MSAT Bridge Simulation Training
The MSAT Full Mission Bridge Simulator, powered by Wärtsilä’s Navi-Trainer Professional 6 (NTPro 6), is designed for the training and certification of watch officers, chief mates, masters, captains, and pilots serving on commercial and fishing vessels of 500 GT and above, in compliance with the IMO STCW 78/95 Convention and relevant IMO Model Courses 7.01 and 7.03.
The system consists of integrated hardware and software featuring full mission navigation bridge consoles, realistic vessel controls, large-screen visualization, and instructor-controlled simulation operating within a networked computer environment. It supports structured, scenario-based training covering passage planning, watch-keeping using ECDIS, radar and ARPA operations, ship maneuvering, emergency and distress response, search and rescue coordination, bridge communications, and specialized operations such as ice navigation, fishing operations, helicopter operations, dynamic positioning, and propulsion control.
Training is conducted through pre-voyage preparation, real-time voyage execution, and post-voyage performance assessment, enabling trainees to develop and demonstrate competence in navigation, decision-making, and bridge team operations in accordance with STCW and maritime industry standards.
